Sorry I’ve been MIA for the last week or so… if you’re following me on Twitter than you’re well aware the mayhem surrounding the latest Chic Event. We’re smack in the middle of Utah and 4 days in to the Sundance Film Festival. This is our second year working the Entertainment Weekly Lounge which is both a blessing and a curse.

A blessing because, doing the EW Lounge at Sundance is the type of thing we dreamed about when we were wee baby event planners and to actually be doing such a thing (for the second time) is beyond cool… I mean, we’re hanging out in an ultra chic lounge in the beautiful snowy mountains watching Orlando Bloom get his picture taken. This does not suck.

A curse though too, because we’ve been doing this same thing for 4 long days of standing on our feet as really, glorified waitresses, wearing Mountain Men uniforms that we can’t seem to get the soup smell of out of.

Regardless here are some stats from the festival:

Number of celebrity sightings: 1.2 million

Number of Twilight Heroine’s I’ve personally served minestrone to: 1

Cast of Happy Thank You

Number of times the Paparazzi have mistaken Erika for Cameron Diaz – 3

Number of times we’ve been skiing or done anything vacation-like – ZERO

Number of HIP eyeshadows the L’Oreal Paris Makeup Girls have tried out on me – 2

Number of days til I go home – 2 (yipee!!)

BALLAS HOUGH

Happy New Year Chic readers!!! 2010 is gonna be a good year… So pump your-self up and get out there and take charge. This weeks tunage will help you make that first step… Its motivative, fun, and best of all super sexy. Honestly the Ballas Hough Band has never been on my favorites playlist, however, if they continue workin’ it the way they have with there first single MOVE  from their second album … I’m all about the Ballas!!! Both Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are former Dancing with the Star Champions and received little attention for their first album, BHB, which was released in 2009.  Move and their second album could be the next big thing at the clubs…. Great American Smokeout

My dear friend and confidant Erika Kurtz got my the most thoughtful Christmas gift this year… the Smoke out Kit from Urban Decay. You see, Erika knows of my deep passionate love for a smokey eye… and more than that she knows my even deeper love for not having to deal with things that require too much time or energy.

The Smoke Out Kit is everything one requires for the perfect smokey eye AND turn-by-turn directions on how to pull it off. The shadow, the liner, the mascara, the mirror and the handy carrying case for it all complete with a small drawer to hold your directions.

My peepers have never looked so good!

The Wallflowers

I don’t know about you Chic Readers but I’m having a really hard time motivating myself into this new decade. 2009 was like a broken arm (replete with cast) and even after you got through it, you’re still left a little weaker, the proverbial shriveled untanned forearm, with no immediate plans for rehabilitation. I just feel blah.

However, if there’s one thing that can always lift my mood it’s music. So today I’m choosing a band that’s all but dropped off the face of the earth despite their meteor-like intensity during the late 90’s.

This is the Wallflowers cover of I’m Looking Through You. It’s exactly the right uplifting energy for a case of “the blahs”.
