Green Apple Turkey Burgers

Gobble Gobble

I am on a never ending high protein diet, so I’m constantly dreaming up new ways to do the same old protein laden dinners. I threw these turkey burgers together the other night and they were good enough to share… who says you can’t put fruit into your patty??

Ingredients

1 Package of Lean Ground Turkey (93/7)

1 Whole Tart Green Apple (finely chopped)

5 Sprigs of Fresh Parsley (finely chopped)

1 Tbls of Whole Grain Mustard

2 Tbls of Grated Parmesean Cheese

1 Green Onion (Chopped)

Salt and Pepper

Mix it Up

Directions

Combine all ingredients (season with salt and pepper… easy on the salt as the cheese is fairly salty already). Mix with a fork just until combined. Be VERY careful not to mix it too much or your meat will be tough and chewy. Cook on oiled grill over medium high heat until cooked through (flipping once).

I ate mine with a side of vegetables (no bread, boo!) but my dinner guest enjoyed it on a bun. It works great either way.

Things are Heating Up

I can confirm that these are both delicious and fancy-tasting. It made me wonder about adding apples to say, a turkey meatloaf??

Are these just grilled on a grill pain on your stove top? Makes it much easier to do during the week then. We are always looking for good turkey recipes. Thanks! :-)

Hey J, It was raining the night I made these so I used a grill pan but grilling bbq is always preferable. Honestly, you could also bake them OR pan fry them. They’re very versatile. =)
