Spicy Ginger Chicken Wings

Wingin' It

Football season is in full swing and the Superbowl is fast approaching. I’m not really a football fan, but I am an eater of game-day fare so I thought it might behoove me to share some of my favorites so you’re ready come Superbowl Sunday. This recipe is sort of a cheat because not one single thing (ok, technically the wings) is from scratch. But who cares, it’s delicious and your friends will think you’re awesome.

What You’ll Need

- 1 Package of Chicken Wings

- Pappy’s Choice Seasoning -

- Spicy Ginger Glaze – in the bbq section of the grocery store… I actually used something I had left over from my Ginger Soy Spare Ribs but you can get away with just about any meat glaze that sounds good to you.

Shake and Bake

First, set your oven to 350 degrees. Next put all your chicken wings in a large plastic ziploc and season generously with the Pappys. Zip the bag up and shake well to coat all of your wings. Spray baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray, place chicken on sheet and cook for about an hour (turning each piece over half way through).

Turning the Chicken

Once chicken is cooked through (no pink) you can remove and use a pastry brush to add your glaze.

Glazed Look

Once you add you glaze put the chicken back into the oven and bake for 15 more minutes or until your glazed starts to caramelize a bit. Once you remove they’re ready to serve, but if you like a lot of sauce you could reapply another coat and put back in again.

Ready to Serve

I garnished mine with some diced green onion (and if I’d had sesame seeds I would have used though too!). Plate them up and get back into the living room, it’s almost time for kick off!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
