Succulent Centerpiece

Ready for Show Time A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to throw an after party for Warner Brother’s new movie Contagion. Since the movie is a little gritty (you know, plague wiping out the world/Gwyneth dying in the opening sequence) I didn’t want to do anything too feminine. I went for an eclectic mix of succulents,  Read More...

Since we’re quickly approaching August we’re in the midst of Sunflower season and these bright hearty flowers will last for well over a week thus stretching your dollar even further! This fluffy variety  Read More...

Simple and Sweet Flowers

Ta dah! So this week my boyfriend surprised me after a trip to the grocery store with a bouquet of pink tulips. Sometimes he brings me flowers “just because.” Yes, he’s a keeper. Anyway, this time I decided to get a little creative rather than just placing them into a boring vase like I usually do. Here’s  Read More...

Daffodils in Bloom

Bunches of Fun Spring flowers are in bloom and are starting to show up in all the local grocery store floral departments. The reason I love daffodils, besides the fact that they’re bright and happy, is that when you buy them before they bloom they’re incredibly cheap. These three bunches above were $5 total, and make for pretty  Read More...

Valentine’s Day Centerpiece

Be Mine I know, conversation hearts are sort of trite as far as Valentine’s decor goes, but they’re also sort of kitschy and cute and so I’m going to use them in my Valentine’s centerpiece! The plus side to this piece is A: Bang for your buck… I mean, a box of hearts costs what, 34 cents?  Read More...

Christmas Chandelier

Deck the Halls

Fa La La La La This is the current adornment on my dining table. I simply stacked similarly hued ornaments in glass vases and called it good. This is totally sustainable and wont die off before the holiday arrives (like some Poinsettias I know). Also, you can add to it with more vases or some surrounding candles… your options are  Read More...

Autumn Decor

Up Close and Seasonal It probably doesn’t shock anyone to learn that I decorate my house seasonally… I assume that most others do the same and if not than I hope this might inspire you to try. I love starting each season with a dining room tablescape. Since we use the big dining room table far less than the  Read More...

Rustic Country Centerpieces

A Little Somethin' As a final recap on the Labor Day party, I wanted to show you all the little centerpieces I created and spread throughout the party. My color scheme was all muted tones: burlap table cloths, natural wood, and an all white floral palette made for a sweet atmosphere. I used a mix of small mismatched  Read More...
