…but seriously???? Miley Cyrus on the August cover of ELLE is a little preposterous.  Don’t get me wrong…I’m totally Team Miley. Love Hanna Montana. Lover her jams. Yet, to be honest, her serious teeny bopping face on the cover of ELLE kind of weirded me out. I mean, come on, SHE”S SIXTEEN. The fact that she’s on the cover of ELLE at all is a little ridiculous but then they had to make her all high fashion and solemn and shiz. I get that she’s launching a line at Wal-Mart so the whole fashion magazine spread makes sense but the expressions she makes kill me. Come on, let the girl smile a little.

Cup Cakery

Grrr…I am mad. This is not a post to rave about a cool nail polish or get excited over a new type of cheese. This is a rant.

Everyday, when 4pm rolls around, I need a pick-me-up, preferably in the form of SUGAR. I cannot continue my day without a cookie, candy, or handful of Flipz. I know. I have a problem. Whatever.

Yesterday, at approximately 4:45pm I needed my fix. As I killed time while waiting for a client, I drove past a little place called Johnny’s Cupcakes. My heart  raced and my mouth began to water. This was TOO perfect. I had to have one.

Pulling over and paralleling in one swift motion, I jumped out of my SUV, breezed through the door and made a mad dash for the counter ready to purchase my sweet treat.

Except when I peered into the glass display case, there were no cupcakes. Frantically, I glanced around the room. Ovens? check. Cupcake pans? check. Kitchen-esque decor? CHECK….but no cupcakes. What kind of cruel joke was this?

Turns out Johnny’s Cupcakes is a clothing store. The hipster girl behind the counter laughed at me with her eyes as I fled the building. I could just hear her now, explaining to her coworker that confused fatties like me roll in all the time in search of frosting and fudge only to leave with growling stomachs and sad hearts.
